- Encrypted Security Token Provides Additional Protection to FINAL FANTASY XI Players
LOS ANGELES (March 24, 2009) – Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of Square Enix interactive entertainment products in North America, today announced the upcoming launch of the Square Enix Account System and Square Enix Security Token in Japan, North America and Europe on April 7, 2009 PDT. Offering additional account safeguards to players of FINAL FANTASY XI, these new initiatives provide for a higher level of account security. The new system will utilize the Square Enix Security Token, which will be available to purchase for $9.99 via the PlayOnline Viewer.
Creating a Square Enix Account is free and can be done by anyone via the official Square Enix website. With this new system in place beginning April 7, 2009 PDT, Square Enix Accounts will be compatible with FINAL FANTASY XI and PlayOnline, as well as future online services.
After registering a Square Enix Account and purchasing the Square Enix Security Token, players can then assign the token to their PlayOnline ID(s). Using the token will generate a one-time password every 30 seconds for the account. Implementation of these new features is an extension of Square Enix’s commitment to continuous service for our customers.
Additionally, players who purchase a security token will also receive the brand new in-game bonus, the “Mog Satchel.” The “Mog Satchel” provides additional inventory space and benefits all characters on the PlayOnline account(s). The space provided by the “Mog Satchel” is equal to the character’s Gobbiebag capacity and can expand along with it. In order to utilize the bonus, it will be necessary for the customer’s PlayOnline ID to be linked to a Square Enix Account. Square Enix Account

Ceci dit, je paierais, juste parce que ça me permettra de fermer deux mules.

Delve Even Deeper with Expanded Services from the Moblin Maze Mongers! (Part I) (04/01/2009)
Their business booming thanks to the loyal patronage of adventurers across Vana'diel, the ever profit-minded Moblins of the Moblin Maze Mongers (MMM) have a few more tricks up their sleeve! To reward their loyal customers—and hopefully entice a few new ones in the process—MMM will be unveiling a host of new services and refinements to their line of custom-order dungeons in the upcoming version update.
Share Your Masterpieces!
MMM will introduce a new Maze Tabula duplication service to provide adventurers with a simple and easy way to share their favorite mazes with one another!
For a nominal handling fee of only twenty marbles per transaction, you will now be able to register a Maze Tabula of your choice with the designated MMM duplication NPC. Copies of the registered tabulae—sorted by theme and popularity for your browsing ease—may then be purchased by any adventurer for the low, low cost of only 500 gil. Now your masterpieces of dungeon design can be enjoyed far and wide!
(Note: Copied tabulae can only be used as is; their runes and vouchers may not be customized further. In addition, copies may be used a maximum of five times.)
Materialization Department Gets a Restructuring!
To address customer concern that Materialization Team missions are excessively challenging compared to other MMM services, Goldagrik and the gang will unveil the following adjustments:
- Materials obtained will be automatically and instantly stored with the NPC Stowastiq. - There is now a chance that materials will not be lost when synthesis fails. - The necessary waiting period between synthesis attempts will be shortened from 60 to 45 seconds. - Certain conditions will result in the appearance of a notorious monster which, if defeated, will yield intermediate synthesis materials. (Note: These materials, however, will not be automatically stored, and must be delivered to Stowastiq manually.) - When assigned your final order, you will be able to choose from a list of items. - Base synthesis skill level will be increased for all Materialization missions. This value may be increased even further by adding the appropriate Maze Rune. - Reward items will be increased to three times their previous quantity, and their contents overhauled as well.
Monsters Tamed!
In the upcoming version update, certain monsters appearing in areas introduced since the Wings of the Goddess expansion will have their attack strength lowered. Certain monsters appearing in MMM mazes will be affected by these changes, with the Moblin Marble rewards gained by defeating them adjusted accordingly.
These features are only part of the excitement that awaits MMM customers in the new version update, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Part II of the preview!

Egg Hunt 2009: Open Season Coming Soon to Vana'diel! (04/03/2009)
The three nations are abuzz once more as the pinnacle of all celebrations good and eggly—the Egg Hunt Egg-stravaganza—fast approaches, kupo! This year, as in the past, the Egg Hunt will see that most vital of all adventuring qualities—cooperation—tested to the fullest egg-stent. After all, it is only through uncompromised collaboration that an ad hoc assemblage of adventurers can consolidate weaknesses and overcome ordinarily overwhelming odds. With seamless cooperation in full swing, even the subjugation of legendary beasts of yolk—errr...yore, even—is not out of the question, kupo!
We perpetually bickering moogles are often in awe of the indomitable spirit of cooperation that is the trademark of so many an adventurer, and thus decided to draw inspiration from this as the theme for this year's prizes for completing "initial egg" combinations. Feast your eyes on following egg-squisite egg-inspired objects, born from the indubitably adroit hands of Kupelcian, San d'Orian master carpenter and pride and joy of all mooglekind, kupo!
"Egg Locker" Store your dining utensils with class with this gorgeous locker unit crafted from century-old oak and lovingly inlaid with gleaming brass marquetry. For a limited time only, all egg lockers come with a lovely Kshama tea set, kupo!
"Egg Table" This sturdy, hemispheric table assembled from polished chestnut wood and draped with a handsome cloth of scarlet is right at home even in the manor of the lordliest of lords in the Kingdom, kupo.
"Egg Stool" Egg-xuding the simple yet refined elegance of wood sourced from a young walnut tree, this low-set stool is upholstered with a velvet-trimmed cushion for your protracted perching pleasure, kupo.
"Egg Lantern" This egg-shaped lantern wrought in burnished brass shines forth with the rich radiance of a newborn star. Set the ambience of your Mog House aglow with this endearing little number, kupo.
And that rounds up the prize items available at this year's Egg Hunt event, kupo! Hm? What happened to the theme of "cooperation" I so meticulously made mention of merely moments ago, you ask? Well, I was just about to get to that, kupo. While each item is formidable in its own right, only in union do these furnishings unleash their true potential!
By their powers combined, I give you—ta-da!—the "Egg Buffet"! A technologically trailblazing egg-shaped buffet table that is the very embodiment of the spirit of cooperation, kupo!
Come event time, we moogles expect you to get rolling—or cracking, whichever is more to your taste—on egg-quiring the entire array of egg items, kupo! Eggspeed you all!
Illustration: Mitsuhiro Arita
Event Period
The Egg Hunt event is set to begg-in on Thursday, April 9th, 2009 at 1:00 (PDT), and conclude on Monday, April 20th, 2009 at 1:00.
Moogle Locations
For the duration of the festivities, event moogles will appear at the locations listed below. Talk to them for a briefing on how to go about getting the absolute most out of your egg-hunting endeavors.
Southern San d'Oria (J-9) / Northern San d'Oria (D- Bastok Mines (I-9) / Bastok Markets (G- Windurst Waters (north side) (F-5) / Windurst Woods (K-10)
How to Play
1. Collect Initial Eggs! "Initial eggs" are eggs of avian persuasion that have been inscribed with a single letter of the alphabet. During the Egg Hunt, adventurers can receive a random initial egg from the festival moogles once every Vana'dielian day. Collecting and forming certain combinations of initial eggs will garner you event egg-sclusive prizes. Please note, however, that the letter inscribed on a particular egg will not be revealed to you until you receive it. Trading often with your fellow adventurers is the key to completing that elusive combination!
2. Make a "First 3" Combination! First of all, try collecting the initial eggs required to make a "First 3" combination. Once you have the eggs you need, trade them to a moogle to receive your prize!
First 3: Collect the first three letters of your character's name. For egg-xample, a character with the name of "Moogle" would need to collect one [M], and two [O] initial eggs.
3. Take it to the Next Level!
Initial Straight 8: An egg inscribed with the first letter of your character's name followed by the next seven letters in the alphabet. For egg-sample, a character with the name of "Moogle" would need an [M], as well as an [N], [O], [P], [Q], [R], [S], and [T].
7 of a Kind: Seven initial eggs with the same letter. For egg-sample, you could choose to collect seven [A] initial eggs.
*Hints - If you are in a party when speaking with a moogle, it is possible to choose an initial egg inscribed with the first letter of a party member's name. And if that party member happens to be wearing an egg helm... - Try trading any type of "egg" to a moogle. Once every Vana'dielian day, you might find that the moogles will gift you with an initial egg in exchange for a "normal" egg. - Newly created characters must wait at least one Vana'dielian day before they can receive an initial egg. Furthermore, you'll have to trade in a "First 3" before you can trade in any other combos. Think of it as a sort of preliminary test! - The moogles are usually egg-stremely reluctant to give out any of their classified information, but maybe if you are persistent enough, one will let you in on a secret or two! Make it a point to talk to them as often as possible!
For those of you who are looking for a real challenge, try egg-sperimenting with different, more egg-citing combinations.
Unleashing Your "Egg Buffet"
Trade an egg locker, egg table, egg stool, and egg lamp to your resident moogle to have it assembled into an egg buffet. Similarly, trading an egg buffet will cause it to revert to the four aforementioned furnishings. Les Power Rangers version oeufs... mébiensur.

Delve Even Deeper with the Moblin Maze Mongers! (Part 2) (04/06/2009)
As previously introduced, the Moblin Maze Mongers will be unveiling a wide range of additions and refinements to their line of custom-order mazes in the upcoming version update. What manner of subterranean adventures do Goldagrik and the gang have in store for you this time?
New Maze Vouchers Usher in More Mayhem and Subterfuge!
With business booming and profits rising, the Moblin Maze Mongers are proud to announce the opening of three new departments—Sanitization Team Beta, Sanitization Team Gamma, and the Appropriation Team—each with new mission objectives to offer. The corresponding Maze Vouchers are, respectively:
Maze Voucher 02: Slay the waves of enemies that descend upon you. Maze Voucher 03: Slay enemies while navigating a multi-chambered maze. Maze Voucher 06: Use your powers of stealth to recover valuable items.
Oodles of New Maze Runes for Your Customizing Pleasure!
To complement the new vouchers, the collection of Maze Runes will also be significantly expanded. Now MMM customers will, with the proper runes, be able to summon adventuring fellows to their aid in their underground adventures, give themselves the added challenge of fighting off particularly fleet-footed foes, and much, much more!
Your Patience Rewarded with Newfound Riches—Introducing "Cave Conservation" (C.C.) Points!
The environmentally conscious Moblins of MMM are diligent in protecting and preserving the subterranean environment in which they operate their business. As a result, some adventurers occasionally must wait longer than they would like before taking on the challenge of a new maze. To reward customers for their patience, MMM will offer C.C. points: the first point received 32 hours after ordering a maze, and an additional point every 8 hours thereafter, up to a maximum of six total points.
Ordering a maze with C.C. points accumulated will yield an additional treasure chest, appearing upon completion of the maze and accessible only to the creator of the maze. The rewards within will vary by Maze Voucher, and will increase in quantity and/or value based on the number of points in your possession as described below.
Maze Voucher 01-03: The chest will contain additional experience. More C.C. points will yield more XP. Maze Voucher 04: The chest will contain items usable in synthesis. More C.C. points will yield more valuable items. Maze Voucher 06: The chest will contain items. More C.C. points will yield more valuable items. Maze Voucher 07: The chest will contain additional experience, and chances of receiving equipment will also be increased. More C.C. points will yield more experience and a greater likelihood of receiving items.
Brand New Equipment Awaits!
Last but certainly not least, a host of new items will be added to the selection of equipment exclusively available through MMM, so start saving up your Moblin Marbles!
Adventurers looking to experience the exciting new features described here need only venture forth to the Maze Mongers Shopfront located inside the Chocobo Stables of Lower Jeuno. Goldagrik and his industrious employees eagerly await your patronage! Sérieux, vous je sais pas, mais moi, je kiffe grave cette pelle. Sinon, les Security Token sont en ventes sur POL à partir d'aujourd'hui, et donnent rappelons le droit à un sachet mog par perso (double l'inventaire de base donc).
